Pefki Gorge is roughly a two - hour downhill walk culminates at Aspros Potamos. It begins just outside the village of Pefki on the road to Agios Stephanos and includes a gentle walk down ancient donkey tracks through olive groves, through to the magnificent gorge steeped on either side by 200 meters vertical cliffs. This walk is relatively easy but good shoes are recommended. Moni Kapsa Gorge, which begins at the village of Kato Pervolakia finishes at the monastery of Moni Kapsa on the Makrigialos Goudouras road and its three hour walk. This gorge is the deepest of the three gorges and in parts is quite sleepy sloping scree. Relatively easy with care, but it has some of the most stunning scenery in the area and has some of the richest variety of natural fauna in the region. Butterfly gorge, which starts high up on the road to Orino and ends at Koutsouras National Park, is roughly a two to three hour downhill walk. The walk actually takes you through two gorges. Near the top, the walk initially takes you through a forest unfortunately destroyed by fire a few years ago, through into the first of the gorges. Following this path down the valley and vast abandoned villages, the path leads you to the third of the gorges named butterfly gorge after the number of the butterflies to be found. This route is impassable when the river is in flow. Good shoes are recommended.
